The first trial of the former officers charged in the killing of George Floyd is underway.

Police officers are rarely prosecuted in such cases and the world will be watching.

and today jurors in the trial of officer

Hieronymo Janas heard closing arguments from both the prosecution

and the defense. The trial has been going on now for 10 days. A quick

reminder on the charges that Janas is facing, he's facing one count of second-degree

manslaughter in the death of Philando Castile and two counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm

for endangering Diamond Reynolds and her daughter who were also in the car

that night. All of these charges are felonies. John Collins joins me now. He was in the courtroom

this morning. John, hi. Hi, Tracy. So this was the prosecution

and the defense's last opportunity to leave an impression with the jury. How did

they sum up their cases today? Well, we've been spending a lot of time in that courtroom and today definitely had a different sort of feel to it.

You could tell people have been exhausted by the trial because it's in its third week now. The courtroom was packed, we were all

squeezed into the rows, it was humid, you know, just a lot of close proximity to

people not in your family. There were so many family members and friends from

Castile and Yanez's sides that there really wasn't much space today for the
