Tonight I'll be reading Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. in In the last chapters, with no further attacks from the mutineers, Captain Smollett and his crew

recuperate in the stockade. Dr. Livesey, carrying the treasure map, ventures out to talk with Ben Gunn, causing concern among the men.

Jim, jealous and eager for action, decides to find Ben Gunn's boat, a small coracle.

He locates it and plans to cut the Hispaniola adrift.

Despite difficulties stealing the coracle, Jim reaches the ship and manages to cut the anchor rope.

He then falls asleep in the coracle, and upon waking, finds himself near the islands

dangerous southwest coast.

Jim decides to board the Hispaniola and leaves himself stranded there as the coracle is destroyed.
