right before Christmas. And so today's topic is going to be a little bit maybe off of the beaten

path, so to speak. We're going to talk to Dr. David K. Bernard about his travels.

Dr. Bernard, one of my favorite memories of working here at UPCI World Headquarters is that not

long after I started here, I happened to find myself at a table with you and former Global Missions

Director Bruce Howe, and the topic of travel came up and I was maybe not really

surprised to learn that you had actually been, he's traveled very widely because he's been

a missionary for a number of years, but I was surprised, maybe a little surprised, but not to learn

that you had actually been to more countries than he had at that time. So let's start there.

How many countries have you been to during the course of your career?

Well, I count nations and overseas territories.

So, for example, Guam is a U.S. territory, but we wouldn't necessarily say if you visited

Guam, you visited the U.S. and vice versa.

So if you allow me to count that, 120 nations and territories, 10 of those being territories. Now, I've got a question for you.

If you just land in the airport, you know, a lot of people maybe if they traveled, say, to the Middle

East, they maybe stopped in

Frankfurt, Germany, the airport there, but they haven't actually left the airport. If you don't

leave the airport, does it count? Well, I did count those. There would be nine like that. So if you

include those, that would only be 111. But yeah, I counted them because I've actually been there.
