Congress's nonpartisan analyst has now weighed in on a couple of President Trump's top priorities,

starting with what Trump calls the big beautiful bill that's making its way through Congress now.

The Congressional Budget

Office put out a new forecast showing it would grow the federal deficit by $2.4 trillion

over the next 10 years. It comes as hard-line conservative Republicans in Congress and billionaire

Elon Musk have been criticizing the bill for just that reason, saying it's too expensive.

Remember, the measure would cut more than a

trillion dollars in spending, with cuts to Medicaid, housing assistance, food stamps, and more. But it would

also mean less money coming in, since it would extend the president's tax cuts from 2017 and add new ones,

as well as step up spending for the military and border security. Plus, it lifts the

federal government's debt ceiling. Despite concerns over the price tag, supporters argue it would

stimulate the economy, meaning it would basically pay for itself. The bill has already passed the

House, and it's being considered in the Senate now. Meanwhile, the Congressional Budget Office also weighed
