Summary

This is not a normal episode, this is better. We’ve heard how much Moneywise listeners love the transparency we get from our guests, so we’ve gone a step further. We sent out a survey to all Hampton members and got hundreds of responses detailing things like how much money they have, how they spend it, what their family situation is, if they have debt and how much, etc. etc. etc.  And we’re giving all of this information away for free at joinhampton.com/wealth. Sam explains more.

Hey everyone, I've got a special announcement. So this is Sam Parr. I'm the host of MoneyWise. This is not a normal episode. This is actually something extra special. So here's the deal. In my opinion, the best part about this podcast is getting all the numbers behind the stories. So people's personal income, their portfolio, how they spend their money. All those numbers are so fascinating to me because I can't Google that.

0:23.4

It's like impossible to find because frankly, it's embarrassing to ask.

0:26.8

And for some reason, people come in this podcast and they reveal a lot of that information.

0:30.4

And I love it.

0:31.6

And I noticed that in the comment section of the podcast, someone left this review and they said,

0:36.6

this is awesome.

0:37.2

I want more.

0:38.2

And I thought, you know what? Fine. I'll do it. I'll give you more. So here's the deal.

I own this company called Hampton. Hampton's the company that produces this podcast. We make this

0:47.4

podcast. And Hampton is a community of CEO. So the average CEO, they own a company doing something

0:53.7

like $25 million in revenue,

0:55.3

but that goes all the way up to like hundreds of millions in revenue. So we're talking some

0:59.2

really big companies, but then some smaller ones in the one, two million a year range. And so I

1:04.6

surveyed them. And I asked them all types of questions, questions that we asked on this podcast,

1:09.4

except unlike this podcast where

1:10.9

it's just one story, I was able to get hundreds of people to reply. These are high net worth

1:14.9

people. And so I asked them this huge list of questions. I asked them, what is their net worth?

1:20.0

What's their liquid money situation look like? What's their private company situation looking

1:24.4

like? How much their income is? What their monthly expenses are? How they're allocating that money. So what's their personal portfolio? What's that looking like how much their income is, what their monthly expenses are,

1:27.7

how they're allocating that money. So what's their personal portfolio? What's that looking

1:31.2

like? I asked them about their take home pay versus their expenses. And then we looked at

1:35.1

how many hours a week they work. We asked them all about their debt and how much money they
