Did you know that in the game of Battleship, you can actually win every single time?

Battleship is this game with two different players, and both players get a 10 by 10 grid,

they get 100 squares each, and five ships.

The ships are different sizes, and it seems like you just have to randomly guess,

and maybe you'll win. Maybe you'll knock down all the other ships.

But once you hit something, you can actually

use strategy and probability to think about the number of squares, the size of the ship,

and actually knock down your number of guesses to a way lower number than your opponent,

hoping that they don't know the same strategy as you, and you can win. And in Christianity, in the walk with God, there is actually strategy involved.

And if you use strategy to pull up things from scripture to what you're dealing with in your daily life,

you can actually destroy the enemy's tactics in your life.

What we're talking about here is Matthew 13, verse 18,

where Jesus explains this strategy to his disciples.

He says, hear the parable of the sower.

Matthew 13, 19.

What is Jesus saying here?

When he says here, he's saying, to put together, to understand, to really think about what,

the parable of the sower.

Now, why parable?

The word parable, it means the careful placing in comparison of two things next to each other, like, for example,

two ships in battle. So he's not just saying, hear only my parables and not hear anything else in
