of Hashtag Swiping safely. In this episode we're going to be talking to activists. We have

a lot of really great people on this episode with a lot of expertise behind activism, what

it means to be an activist, how to be an activist, and you'll get to hear from some really

great people that will educate you more on a lot of issues such as being trans, interested

in transitioning and such and trans athletes. And then you'll also get to hear about what

it is to be asexual and what asexuality is because it's one sexuality that isn't really

talked about much. So have a really great episode for you guys. Before we begin, you're going

to get to hear about the UN youth on Void herself. But I'll introduce herself. So here she is.

Yes, Gael, very happy to join you today. My name is Jaiath Mavi Kramanayaka. I'm originally

from Sri Lanka, but I now work at the United Nations as the Secretary-General's Envoy

on Youth. And what does that mean? That means I advise and represent the world's top diplomat,

the UN Secretary-General, on issues that affect and are related to young people in our world

today. Wow, how did you even begin to get a job like that?

This is certainly not a job that existed, you know, when I was in high school or even university,

because it's quite a new role. The role actually came into being because today our world is younger

than it has ever been. We have half of our world's population today under the age of 30. So the

United Nations wanted to create a focal point on an office that can be an interface with those

young people and that can also be a bridge between young people and governments and the United

Nations. So my office was established with that aim in mind. And I came into this role because in

my home country, Sri Lanka, I had done quite a bit of work when it comes to youth mobilization

and youth activism on youth policy and in the national youth council of my country. So all of
