Episode 546. Today I'm back with my partner Tim and we are talking about our journey, our multi-week journey

out west, which we, as of the time of this recording, have been on for about three and a half weeks.

So welcome.

Thank you. It's good to be back.

So let's chat about the journey so far. So last time we recorded, we were in Portland.

Now we're in Oakland and about to leave for our final destination, at least out west, which is

Point Arena, which nobody has heard of. And everyone's like, are you sure you don't mean point

raise? That's so funny. And I think that part of it is because it's, it is a little bit further away than I think a lot of folks in the Bay Area go to. It's in Mendocino County. It's actually, it's not the smallest town. It's next to a much smaller town called Manchester, and there's like, I don't know.

I'm curious about that whole thing. Nobody thinks this place exists. I know. They think I'm saying the wrong thing. And so I'm even questioning it. No, it is for real. I have biked through there. It's a cute little town. And we have a cool little rental up in the redwoods right above town in the hills, not unlike like what we have here in Oakland, but it's a much

smaller town. And I think that the temperature is not going to get any higher than 61 degrees

for the entire week and a half we're there. Which is crazy because those of you on the East

Coast, I feel for you. I mean, well, and the Midwest, really everywhere where it's like in the

90s already. Or higher. Yeah, or higher. Oh, my gosh, you're right. Yeah, like Arizona, et cetera. It's been over 100 at times. I mean, it's just craziness because during this whole trip, I've been really surprised, I have to say. I think the hottest it's been has been about 86, and that was in Oakland a couple days ago.

And then Seattle when we arrived, I think, had their hottest day of the year, and it was like 84.

But other than that, it's been chilly, like 60s, constantly wearing layers.

I carry a sun hat and a kind of knit hat because you never know which one you're going to need.

Right.

And it's just been really interesting because I'm used to D.C. where all you need is like very

little clothing because it's so freaking sultry.

Every summer I always come out west at least once.

And I think Kimberly might now understand why I do that because I can escape the humidity and the heat and just be in a place where, you know, wrapping up and putting on hats and whatnot.
