Hello, Lakers Nation. Welcome to the Lakers Nation.com live podcast. I'm Trevor Lane, and it is time.

Rob Palakkin and JJ Reddick meeting tomorrow with the media. We're going to start to hear from them. Training camp kicking off next week. We'll have media day as well.

0:17.6

We're going to talk about all the things that we want to see. We want to hear from those

media availability, training camp, everything else. Happy to have you all here. If you're coming

0:26.2

in live from YouTube, from X, from Facebook, welcome in. Let's talk some Lakers basketball this

0:32.2

evening. Joining me my good friend, Alan Slewa, Alan, thanks so much for jumping on here. Really exciting time of

0:39.1

here right now. My brother, what is going on? I feel like, why does it feel like this offseason

0:44.9

has been three and a half years? I'll tell you, it always does, though. That's the thing.

0:50.5

Every offseason feels like this one, this has been rough. I think last season was more difficult just because there weren't a bunch of moves being made by the Lakers. But you're right. By this point, we are so basketball starved that it feels like it has been forever since we've seen the Lakers out there on the floor. So I'm right there with you. It felt like it's been a long offseason. But finally, finally, we're here. We're on the downward slope now. Oh, yeah. And before we know it, we're going to actually see the guys out there on the floor. No, this is the start of the grind. It's, you know, obviously, I would argue probably the best time of the year when it comes to sports,

1:29.5

just because you have so many sports colliding, so many sports kind of crossing, I guess you could say,

1:36.0

but certainly you get NBA basketball back.

1:38.0

And like you mentioned, tomorrow will kind of officially be the beginning of focusing on this

1:43.3

upcoming season.

2:18.3

You get Palenka and JJ Redick talking. Yeah, exactly. So we get Rob Palakkin and JJ Redick meeting with the media tomorrow. And people, I've had a lot of people ask why, why? What's going on? What's happening is something up? What's this all about? This is pretty standard. This is nothing out of the ordinary media day itself, which is next week on Monday, will be reserved for the players to be talking. And so this is a little, call it like an appetizer, right to Media Day. This is JJ and Rob will meet with the media and they will discuss things, talk about, you know, whatever it is that they want to get into. They'll take questions, all of that sort of stuff. And then they won't speak as much, if at all, on Monday during Media Day.

2:23.9

That will be reserved for the players themselves.

2:26.5

So this is pretty normal.

2:27.4

They did this last year as well.

2:29.4

And, you know, I guess, Alan, let's just dive right into it.

2:33.1

What are you hoping to hear from Rob Polinka and JJ Redick when they meet with the media

2:38.3

tomorrow?

2:39.0

That's a good question.

2:40.2

I think, you know, anytime you get your president of basketball operations, you get your
