It was a fun Friday night at Gillette Stadium as the Patriots got a little bit competitive with a scrimmage inside Gillette Stadium.

Let's break it down for you.

Welcome everybody to the Patriots training campcast and we are fresh off of the field at Gillette Stadium where the Patriots switched it up a little bit, guys. Usually these in-stadium practices aren't really competitive, but tonight Mike Brable instituted some points. They had a draft between the two teams, and it was actually pretty enjoyable, Paul, wouldn't you say? I thought it was fun. I don't think it was any more necessarily competitive. He thought it was

fun. I did. And not because I thought the overall execution was all that great. I know Evans, you know,

sort of in a dark place. But I thought the way that Vrabel sort of explained, you know,

there was going to be scoring on defense for good defensive plays,

turnovers, you know, run stuffs and things of the like, you know, third down stops,

third down conversions on offense.

So the game never really got out of hand either way because it wasn't ever more than a one-scored game because you could get infinite amount of points on a possession.

So I thought it was a fun setup. Now I'll let Evan tell you why you shouldn't be too happy about anything that happened.

Look, I don't want to rain on the parade because it was a fun night and it was a fun set up.

And I was glad that we got to get one of these where it felt at least live and competitive.

And I've seen so many of these in stadiumstadium practices that are just walk-throughs

and glorified walk-throughs. And this was much better than that. It was much more fun than that.

And there were standouts, which we'll get to, but let's just call it for what it was.

Drake May's team, the blue team, turned the ball over three times in the practice.

Drake had two interceptions. Remandre Stevenson fumbled. These are just the types of practices you just don't want to see repeated. If it's a one-off and it was just a fun night, loose, goofy kind of practice, then that's totally fine. But if we get out there against Washington on Wednesday and you have a joint practice like this, then that's a little bit different.

But I'm not going to take this too seriously. I mean, they were doing trick plays. They were doing some crazy stuff. So I'm not going to sit here and take away all these, you know, doom and gloom type observations. But I just don't want to see that repeated. Is that fair? Like I don't want to keep seeing that. It's totally fair. and I'm obviously, you know, having some fun with Evan.

open targets that he missed on one. I think the second series that he had, I thought he had Stevenson

on a little kind of a broken play where I thought he did a really nice job climbing the pocket to
