today we have with us a hiker who goes by the name of Medicare

pastor knows her so as proudly calls herself old lady on the trail a retired

pastor grandmother of 10, she began long-distance hike backpacking at the age of 60.

Completed her triple crown, that's the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Levi Trail 16 years later.

And this year completed the American Discovery Trail.

So she's a Triple Crown Plus.

I'm glad to be here.

And Mary also wanted to mention, you're also the author of a book that we're going to talk

about later.

Aren't you afraid?

I'm actually the author of two books.

So the first one is Old Lady on the Trail,

and that's about doing the Triple Crown over a number of years. And the second one is, aren't you afraid, which is about doing the first

half of the American Discovery Trail. And this year, I'll probably write a third one because now I've finished the American

discovery trail. Wow so in addition to doing these now you're writing about them and Mary if you don't mind me asking we

talk a little about your age here in the intro how old are you I am 82 and

very proud of it and you just finished the American Discovery Trail and for those people who aren't aware?

That goes coast to coast from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean across the center part of the United States.
