Today we're going to talk about the John Muir Trail which you hiked.

Yeah, so I hiked it the summer of 2023. So I guess I'll give a little background just on the trail itself and then I'll talk about little logistics of my hike. So, JMT, it's also called the new mopoyo. It's 213 miles and it goes from Yosemite

Valley to Mount Whitney, the summit. So there are some more logistics in terms of how you get to either one of those terminuses.

And I did hike at southbound so I started in Yosemite.

I think it's generally a harder permit to get. I'll give you a little info on how I got my permit though. But it is an interesting hike. There's a lot of mountain passes that you climb. One of them's Forrester Pass, which is the highest pass in in the US and it's the highest pass on the

PCT then but yeah the traveling southbound the elevation is 46,000 feet ascent and 38,000 feet descent.

So I got kind of lucky with my permit. It's definitely it's known as a hard permit to get one of the harder ones.
