Those kind of like clickbait ads.

One weird trick to lose two stone in three weeks.

And we kind of got a bit of one weird trick diplomacy in the Sunday time this weekend.

There was this suggestion that Downing Street had asked the Attorney General to effectively

look for a loophole, which would mean that they wouldn't have to basically operate what

they had already agreed on Northern Ireland and Brexit. And that is the, and that is, that is the analogy that,

you know, there is some simple shortcut that allows you to do something really difficult.

Like losing weight is basically you have to be really boring stuff around diet and exercise

and stick at it. There is no one weird trick. And it's the same thing where if you want to

minimise the number of checks on goods crossing the Irish Sea after Brexit, there isn't going to be one weird legal trick or some kind of loophole or some wheeze.

You just have to do the hard kind of graft of negotiating.

But that story at the weekend kind of reminded me if the, remember in the earlier Brexit era where we kept hearing about WTO Article 24, which would

basically allow us to continue to trade with the EU with no real changes, but without having

to strike an agreement. And it, you know, it was something which ended up exasperating virtually

everybody involved on the EU side and on even people who were expert in the WTO.

So it felt like we were getting back to that era, unfortunately again, where, you know,

there were people on this lookout for potential loopholes, which would kind of unwind what we already agreed.
