Hey, what's up, everybody? Welcome into Tom Cairns Patriots Talk Podcast. It's Tuesday.

It is the trade deadline edition of Tom Carren's Patriots Talk podcast.

All right, as expected, Patriots didn't do much at all.

You know why?

The trade deadline is for good teams.

Teams that want to say, add a Kyle Danoy or a Jonathan Casillas or an Akeem Ayers or in Akeeb Talib,

teams that are a guy away. That's who the trade deadline's for. That's what the Patriots used to do.

They'd add the guy who they thought was a missing piece.

Sometimes they'd trade away a guy who they thought was expendable, i.e. Jamie Collins.

I think that was on Halloween 2014. I remember standing at a gas station in Canton, you know, the one of the 95, 128, where it's all jumbled.

I was talking about that deal with somebody.

I was stunned and amazed.

And they still won a Super Bowl.

Well, they're not going to be winning any Super Bowls this year.

Nobody bit on the guys that might have been dangled.

Joshua H.A. reportedly was dangled, and the Patriots received calls on him.

Additionally, some of the players we figured, a Kyle Dugger, a Mike and Wenu, even a Hunter Henry

or a Trent Brown, players who might have some immediate relevance.

Kendrick Bourne, of course, could have, but he is injured.

When it comes right down to it, these are players who say Bourne undrafted,
