Well, the trade season soon upon us, rumors are abounding.

It's time to start talking about what each individual team is going to be looking to do at the trade deadline.

And let's start with an absolutely fascinating division, the Atlantic division.

And let's start with one that really has not had any trade rumors, at least for improving for this season.

Obviously, they've been in the Anthony Davis sweepstakes in theory,

but they can't make that trade until the off season,

as long as they've kind of re-roving on the team.

They can have two designated rookie extension players on your team at once.

The Boston Celtics.

So let's just talk about where they are financially here as a starting point.

One quick addendum, you can't have two designated rookie players that were both acquired via trade.

You could theoretically like the wolves are going, wolves do with towns and wiggins.

So I just wanted to say that briefly.

But the Celtics are, so we haven't talked about this, I think enough,

that the Celtics are narrowly over the lecture tax line.

It's between three and four million, depending on the way it's traditionally counted.

It's four million.

And the reason why that matters is because this would start the clock for the repeater tax for the Boston Celtics.

So even though it wouldn't be that expensive this year, theoretically,

if you'd years down the road, this small expenditure could end up really ratcheting it up

because it's dollar for dollar in the repeater tax.

Yeah, or we should say an extra dollar for each.
