On to our news story this week and Shock headline Forecaster Changes Forecast because it is looking like it might be wrong.

That in itself is not news, but there is something interesting behind it, which is that the property consultancy Night Frank had previously predicted that property prices would fall by 4% by the end of

But they now come out and change that prediction just a bit.

They now think prices will go up by 3%.

And this is sparks by the expectation

that interest rates will come down.

But the base rate, of course, has not moved.

There's no suggestion that it is going to move.

But the market is now convinced

that because of inflation falling, there will be rate

cuts this year. Therefore, lenders are cutting their fixed rates, which is good for the housing market.
