Summary

Scott Gaffney is a Sherpa in the world of elite athletes.  He carries a 40 pound backpack through some of the more remote places in the world all in the name of "getting the shot".  Like many before him, the ski dream was only achieved through hardships that a lot of us don't know.  Sleeping in cars, taking showers in local sprinkler systems and doing whatever it takes to make it.  And for Scott, "making it" became a sort of groundhog day of filming, editing and producing rad ski movies.  Hear the whole story on the podcast.

who shoots all winter and edits all summer.

0:40.3

Speaking of summer, I did have two more summer podcasts planned.

0:44.7

One has been a ghost over the last week, and the other has wasted at least five work days of mine over the past two years.

0:51.1

I even showed up at his place of work once on his request, but he was a no-show.

0:55.5

I'm not going to mention who that is because I'm not that much of an asshole, but I will say the

rescue water, and the 10-barrel brewery. Now, let's talk to Scott Gaffney. You are just back from South America, it sounds like. I am, yeah. Had a great trip to Argentina. Well, how long do you

1:41.3

go for? About a week and a half. And for the skier that doesn't ever make it to South America, what are the big differences when you go on a trip down there compared to anywhere else you go?

1:51.0

Huh. That's a challenge. You know, this is my first trip actually down there. I've been to Peru for kind of more of a ski mountaineering trip for days of my youth. But for that, I didn't even bring my skis.
