Summary

Jason Arens was the Head Ski Judge at the Milan Cortina Olympics and when he's not traveling the most important ski events, to judge the best athletes in the world, he's an Owner of Surface Skis, Joystick Poles, and Causwell Outerwear.  Jason always has a lot going on...I met him calling tricks at a contest years ago, I was blown away by his ski nerdery, and these days, Jason may be the most knowledgeable person on the planet when it comes to competition skiing. On the podcast, we talk his sponsored ski career, Olympics, judging, Good Enough, brands and more. Khai Krepela and the Good Enough crew collaborate on the Inappropriate Questions.

I'm your host Mike Powell, and this week I wish I had something to talk about instead of just being sad.

But the reality of my life is that I still wake up every morning, and even on the days where I feel like I'm going to be okay,

0:29.2

something happens and I inevitably break down and cry. And I can't make it stop. I've been making a habit

0:34.9

of taking a selfie every time this happens, which is kind of dumb,

0:38.4

but I do it because this is so unreal to me that I can't control my emotions.

0:42.3

And now I have a visual documentation of that.

And as I get ready to head out to the Mekonki event this year, it gives me a different appreciation for what Sherry McConkey has been through.

Sherry has become way more important.

And the reason that happened is because Shane, her husband, died.

And while I've tried to be there for her over the years,

Sherry has silently been there for me every step of the way,

for me and my family.

And while we both experienced the same thing,

they were totally different experiences. I had to watch a disease slowly kill Ange, and the pain and suffering was miserable

to watch. But I was there for her every step of the way. And I don't know what's better,

getting a phone call and having your whole world taken from you, or if it's better to do it the

But with Sherry, she has to plan and then relive a celebration of her lost husband, and she has to do
