0:16.9	I'm your host Mike Powell, and I'm back from vacation vacation and it was a totally different experience this year.
0:22.0	For the past decade, my kid has been my shadow on these trips, always wanting to be on the water with me or be on the boardwalk with me or be wherever with me.
0:30.3	But this year was different. He brought a friend and all of a sudden I wasn't needed.
0:35.1	While I'm not complaining, as it was nice to have time with my
0:38.3	wife and family and time to relax, it was kind of sad. I'm sure every parent goes through this,
0:44.3	but it's one of those things that you don't really see coming until it happens. I mean,
0:48.3	everyone tells you that time goes really fast when you have a kid, and as cheesy as that sounds,
0:53.3	it's totally true. The bummer for me is
0:56.0	that I know that my kid is not going to want to ski with me this year. He's going to want to
0:59.7	ski with his friends instead of being with me, but I have a plan for this season. My kid, he's super
1:05.2	into skateboarding right now. He goes every day with his friends when he doesn't have football practice,
1:10.2	and football is something I'll talk about on another podcast.
1:12.9	But he loves to skateboard and he's getting pretty good.
1:15.9	His ollies are already better than mine ever were.
1:18.6	So it's no surprise that he's interested in getting into snowboarding.
1:22.0	So that's going to be my plan this year to spend more time with him.
1:25.1	Get him a snowboard and teach him how to do it.
1:27.4	And for me,
1:28.0	I used to love snowboarding. That's what I was passionate about until I blew my knee out on one.
