Dan Egan is a Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame Member and living legend with a ton of stories to tell. In round two of his podcast, he tells the story that almost killed him, what it took to survive and how it changed his life forever. There were 15 people that didn’t make it out and Dan tells the tale. We finish things off with my complaints about the Ski and Snowboard HOF that Dan is currently the face of.

0:13.5 | Welcome to the Powell Movement. |
0:17.1 | I'm your host, Mike Powell, and I've just returned from the best summer OR trade show I've ever been to. |
0:22.9 | But if I'm to keep it real, it's the only summer OR trade show that I've ever been to and it was quite disappointing. |
0:29.1 | First and foremost, the show was small. |
0:31.6 | You could walk every nook and cranny of the show in two hours max. |
0:35.6 | And the brands you saw in the hallways? Well, they were mostly brands I didn't know or know that well, and a bunch of licensed |
0:41.3 | products. |
0:42.3 | And for each product category at the show, you could look at it as the fifth best in class |
0:47.3 | in that category, well, they attended this show. |
0:50.3 | For example, in the Keep Things Hot and Cold category, I look at the top brands in the world as |

1:07.6 | It was really crazy to be there and feel like I was witnessing firsthand the demise of an |
1:12.4 | industry powerhouse. And it's a shame, too, because I really like the people behind the show, |
1:17.5 | and I believe these shows can be saved, but a lot of things would need to happen to get everyone |
1:21.9 | back on board. And timing is the most important thing that would need to change. There's a reason |
