Hello and welcome to the evolution of horror. My name is Mike Munzer. As always, I am your host.

0:23.5

Now, we're bringing you a little bonus episode today as a little preview for the upcoming

0:28.1

Edinburgh Film Festival. Evolution of Horror are going to be working and partnering with the

0:32.9

festival this August, and I'm very excited to be there in attendance throughout the festival and I'm also

0:38.4

going to be hosting one of the midnight premieres. It's, if you haven't been, an amazing city,

0:44.7

an amazing vibe. Edinburgh is genuinely my favourite city in the UK. I love any chance to go there,

0:51.0

but particularly in August when the film festival is going on, it's also

0:54.6

going on at the same time as the theatre, the fringe festival, and of course the television

1:00.7

festival as well, the book festival is happening. So the whole city is alive with all of these

1:06.6

incredible creative events going on. And it's just a beautiful place to just be and hang out.

1:12.5

So I'm going to be there for a few nights from the 16th of August through to the 21st.

1:17.1

I'm going to be there with various other friends of the pod as well who are up there.

1:21.1

So come along. Grab yourself some tickets to come and see some awesome films. Come and hang out with me.

1:26.9

It's going to be a really fun vibe.

1:28.4

And we're going to talk a little bit about the program in this bonus episode because there is a

1:33.5

midnight movie category. So every night across the film festival, there will be a different

1:38.1

midnight premiere of a film in the horror or kind of horror adjacent genre, essentially. So I sat down with the

1:46.3

programmers for the festival, Paul Ridd and Emma Boa, who took me through this year's program

1:52.7

and gave me some incredible recommendations for some of the films they are going to be

1:57.4

screening, including the new movie by Ben Wheatley and the new toxic Avenger films.

2:03.9

So please enjoy my spoiler-free Edinburgh preview conversation with Paul Ridd and Emma Boa.

2:11.9

A big welcome back to Paul and Emma.
