For me, a halal holiday is where I can just freely go with my parents, my family, just have that non-alcoholic environment, you know, where we can be ourselves and most

importantly have halal food.

I'm M Hashmi and in this episode, I'll find out more about the destinations that are top of

the list for Muslims wanting to get away without compromising their religious beliefs and practices.

My next halal holiday is going to be to the Maldives.

I'm really looking forward to it. It's a Muslim country, so there's no need to explain the alcohol or the meat situation to them.

Everything is halal on these islands.

I'll find out what it takes to be certified, halal-friendly.

Alcohol-free rooms, female privacy,

such as secluded swimming pools and spas,

and available prayer facilities.

And examine why this is such a growth area

in the global travel industry.

As a Muslim, this subject is of great interest to me. It can be difficult to travel and stick to the rules of Islam that many Muslims follow. So I've actually just

recently learned more about halal holidays and the different options available.

One thing that really, really encourages me to take a halal holiday on my next breakaway

would be the fact that I could wear a swimming costume on a private beach where I normally would

shy away from that and end up wearing a long dress or leggings and a t-shirt. So it's something

that's really interested me because I've never booked a halal holiday before.

I took my three young children to Antalya in Turkey. There was so much for them to do there.

The food was so versatile.
