Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast with Benji Niesen. I'm going to waste none of your time.

Stage 5 interprivas of the Tour de France. Benji, give us a rundown of what this stage look like before it started.

Okay, today's stage starts in Gup and finished in Piva.

Now I pronounce it Priva's all the time, but apparently it's Priva in French, so my bad.

Either way, it is a relatively flat parco throughout. We've got a start at

around 1,000 altitude and we basically slowly but surely make our way down to

sea level which is about 30 kilometers from the line.

When we come by sea level, then we go upwards a bit, we've got one small climb, the

Caud de Saint-Vinc-Vinc.

And then we go downhill once again for a few kilometers and then basically we have 1.2

kilometers at 3.4% slowly but surely making a way to the finish line which is

actually a flat finish while everybody advertised it as a hill finish necessarily it's a hill finish

per se the last five kilometers but the last 200 300 meters were surely in a flat area. Now throughout the stage, not much happened.

I gotta be honest there. It was so boring. But despite that, I do have some stuff to tell you

about the stage itself.

We started off with Azgren trying the only attack of the day,

and he basically attacked the way for a good 40 meters.

Tom once again bridged up to him, and they basically were caught directly after Boda decided to chase them down.

And that was the end of the breakaway of the day.

They didn't form another breakaway.

Nobody else attacked.

And we basically had a whole day of having no breakaway.
