I'm John Batcher. Simon Constable, my colleague is in Toulouse, France. He is the author of

a quiz in the Wall Street Journal in these last days. Who are the victims of cyber fraud, is the name

of the quiz. Take our quiz and find out. There are ten questions. I got all of them wrong. I had no idea what I was doing.

Clearly, I'm vulnerable to cyber fraud.

How did you do on the quiz that you built, Simon?

Well, if I'd have built it and not actually built it at the same time, I would have gotten none right, because I didn't know any of these things before I did that.

And even knowing the answers and having written the answers,

I would probably not do very well on it,

because they're not obvious.

If you forget what's been going on in these things,

having written them, it's not obvious in any way.

It's in many ways that the whole fraud and cyber fraud thing is something that most honest

people can't get their head around in any way.

We'll ask a couple of questions here, and you at home can get them all wrong too.

The FBI received on average 2,412 complaints of

cyber fraud each day during 2023. Which age group made the most complaints? 60 and above,

that would be my lot. 50 to 59, 40 to 49, 30 to 39, 18 to 29. I have no idea, Simon. Did you know this one?

No, I didn't know this one. And what's interesting is the big gap between the top one and then the next one down.

It's 60 and older for 101,000 complaints for cyber fraud in 2023.

And then the next one was those aged 30 to 39.

So, you know, some old, some young.

It's very interesting.
