Following the 33 days of preparation for consecration designed by St. Louis de Montfort, we will be spending 33 days together preparing to make this consecration. Welcome back. Today is day 19 of these 33 days of preparation for total consecration to Jesus through Mary right here on the Catholic Sprouts podcast. Today is also the

final day of our second section where we're talking about what it is to be a human.

We've already talked about the fact that we were created in God's image, that we were part of God's family,

that we are called to seek to know, understand, and love God, that we're sinners, called to be humbly confident in God, and that we are redeemed,

forgiven, and saved through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

Now, today we're going to talk about the final part of what it means to be God's follower

as a human being.

We see this through the example of St. Peter in the Gospels and in Acts of the Apostles.

And this quality we share with Peter is that although we are imperfect, although we are sinners,

God will equip us for the work he has planned for us.

That he will equip us through the Holy Spirit.

Now, Peter is one of my favorite characters from the gospel because he is, he's not perfect.

We get to see him make all sorts of mistakes. And yet, he is selected by

Christ to be the leader of the early church. And he does tremendous things as the leader of

the early church. But he is a very unlikely person to choose. Now, let's just review why he's an unlikely selection to lead

the church. Number one, Peter was a fisherman. He was not a scholar. He was not a teacher. He was

none of those things. He was a humble fisherman. We don't even know if he could read or write. He
