Uff, boy did those stories get their asses kicked.

I hereby declare that Keir Maver is duly elected.

Now, in three bar elections, the average drop in Conservative support was 21 points.

That's actually worse than the National Polling suggests.

The choice was defeated by Labour in Selby and ain't the in North Yorkshire.

Now, the governing party won that seat with more than 20,000 majority back in 2019.

Labour this time clinched it with a more than 4,000 majority,

some until and fro, clobbed by the Lib Dems, who overturned a 19,000 majority

and turned it into an 11,000 majority for the yellow party.

Now, of course, Labour didn't win it in Oxbridge and South Ryze Lake,

Boris Johnson's old seat.

We will talk more about that.

I'm going to talk about the lessons here.

I'm not just giving you a kind of general overview.

I'm sure most of you have or many of you have looked at these results yourself.

But the predecessor of this seat wasn't won by Labour even in the 1997 landslide

and more than 7,000 majority was cut down to 495.

That's clearly progress.

Now, overall, Labour should have a spring in their step because all the evidence

conclusively points to the basic fact that the next election apparently

penned in for next November.
