Unlike other times when I would drink and I wouldn't know what they'd done the previous

day, I was just sitting and thinking about my life and where it all started. I want to take you right to the beginning, as my memory can take me.

1983 was the year that things changed for me. I was in standard four at primary school, and that year my father died. The very next year

at age of 12 I remember I started drinking and I drank because obviously the superinarian was no longer

there the father figure I saw company other than my home you you know, friends and acquaintances. And at that time,

I didn't think much of it. And alcohol was just part of growing up for me. And, you know,

as years later on, I actually realized that I were from a young age, I started to become an alcoholic.

Into my high school years, I was fairly good in school. I was all right. I continued drinking

and I didn't really take notice of it. You know, I call it setbacks. And then in 1988, I was in Senate 9. I was doing

fairly well. I remember my teachers always speaking about my academic achievements and things. But then my brother

passed away that year. And he was 21 years old. He was older than me. And once again, I committed

myself to destruction. I drank even more, and I started doing other things, and my life took a whole

new turn. I remember being in Matrick, not even, I sent a message with my last couple, I think it was

biology or something I had to write, I just sent a message saying, just tell the teacher I'm not

going to be in today, I'm not going to come write my exam.

And I never completed my matric that year, you know. And I continued drinking and finding pleasure in the worldly things.
