Like I said my name is Willie and I am an alcoholic and I'm really glad to be here today.

You know it's a little bit nervous last night until that dance started and then after

I got out there and started dancing I felt pretty good, you know, I was able to relieve

a lot of tension and all that but now again this morning I was a little nervous too because

I'm not normally used to getting up like this and speaking, you know, especially this

is the first time with a mic and all that and it's kind of a weird trip, kind of something

different.

Our topic, our view on the thing says most of us were unwilling, you know, and I don't

know really how I felt when I came to this program, all my feelings were anesthetized for

so long that I really, I wasn't capable of feeling anything for myself or anybody else.

I was incapable of loving anybody, I was incapable of being totally honest.

I was incapable of a lot of things but I think all of what I wanted to do was get sober

for a while, get dried out until I start feeling better and then go out and start in again,

you know.

But after a couple of weeks after my head began to clear a little bit, it became apparent

to me through talking to a lot of people that shared about me and all that that I was

an alcoholic, you know, and that I had a disease and I always thought it was a weak character
