recovered alcoholic.

My home group is the men's basic step study group. We meet on Thursday nights in SoCal.

What else should I tell you about? Oh, yes. My sobriety date is sometime during the month of October in 1947. For those of you who don't have your calculators with you, last October I celebrated my 47th anniversary of Clean and Silver.

I'm sure glad that pleases you because I have no idea at all of changing it.

What else should I tell you about me? I should tell you, first of all, I think, of how, well, I feel rather ambivalent about this.

Mack was the first person that contacted me, and in a moment of weakness, I said yes.

I'm not sure how good I feel about that.

We'll see when this is over.

But I will tell you that I certainly feel honored and privileged to have this opportunity.

In 47 years, I've been to a few AA functions. And I can't remember one that I have seen the kind of work, the cooperation and the organization that I've seen here.

I think it's just marvelous.

I wish I had every one of the committee's names.

I had a sheet with it on there one time, but I didn't get here with it.

But you know who you are, and we certainly commend you.
