Welcome to the midweek edition of Legal A.F with your co-anchors Michael Popock and Karen Friedman

Ignifalo. You might have noticed something new. We are podcasting live from the Lower East

side in Manhattan at the P&T knitwear store, which has a beautiful podcast studio, which heard all about Legal AF and said, we've got to get these co-anchors into a room together for the first time in two years. And here we are, Karen. I am so thrilled to do this with you in a real studio. Yeah, it's exciting. I also, I feel so hip. I mean, we're at the Lower East Side,

which is one of the hippest parts of Manhattan. Absolutely. It's like, it's not morning, Joe.

It's like afternoon Joe. And I have a little connection to Lower East Side. And as I'm sure Karen may also, my immigrant great-grandparents came through Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, of course. And one of my grandparents

was pushing a cart selling stockings as an eight-year-old on Orchard Street before he ended up

becoming a owner of a factory that manufactured stockings, but literally was an eight-year-old who dropped out

of school in fourth grade and started at an Orchard Street. And now Karen and I are back on Orchard Street

doing a podcast. Totally crazy. We are going to cover, as always, the most consequential stories at the

midweek at the intersection of law and politics. And we'd be remiss if we didn't kick it off

with sort of a legal analysis through the legal AF lens of what just happened last night and

this morning on election day. A tremendous, we'll call it a victory, result for the Democrats and for those that fly the blue flag,

because at the end of the day, this was the best result for a party in power, a president in power,

who originally had all the chambers of Congress at the midterm. In a way, it may end up being the best result in a century in terms of seats that were gained,

the Senate that was retained, and the House, even though we're going to lose the House, losing it by very, very little.

No one, maybe the legal IF and Midas touch brothers,

thought that this was possible.

The reality is there is a complete rejection at the midterm

of MAGA Republican ideals, of Trumpism.

There's no other way to interpret these results.

And of course, we haven't seen the analytical breakdown yet, but I would be shocked and I want to get your opinion, Karen, if

women voters and like-minded men who support women and women issues didn't help turn the tide
