So, John, you know, NBC has had its problems as a network, lots and lots of problems. Steve Burke, who runs NBC Universal, has remained since Comcast, bought NBC Universal and put him in that job. He's been kind of quiet. But in the past week, he spoke out publicly, and it was kind

of extraordinary to me.

The thing he chose to speak out about on the pages or the screens of The Daily Beast was

a plea that people should not blame Matt Lauer for the problems that the Today Show was

facing, big problems, big money involved, because really it's all his fault.

We should step back and explain. This program produced by NBC News generates almost half a billion dollars in ad revenue every year. It went down a little bit last year.
