You can imagine Hollywood everything is really driven by making money.

I'm joined by Michael Schneider of TV Guide magazine. Hello, Michael. Hi, John. So probably the

worst kept secret in the TV world for the last several months has been Rupert Murdoch and News Corp's

attempts to put together a national sports cable channel, and now that they've gone official.

Right. They're calling it Fox Sports One. And yes, this is something that Rupert and his merry band of

sports executives have been coveting for years, taking on ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports,

of course. And this is big. This is what they've been wanting to do for years. And now we'll see.

Yeah, I want to throw out a number that ESPN right now generates about $6 billion. That's with a B in annual revenue.

Probably the highest fees charged by any cable channel, about $5.15 for ESPN. Throw in ESPN 2, ESPN 3. You get up to almost $7 per subscriber.
