In today's show, let's talk about the top causes of death here in the US during the year 2022.

we review this data. I think it's actually surprising for a lot of people because many people

But it's important to recognize that heart disease and cancer, which are needless to say,

preventable deaths and or conditions comprise and have comprised for the past three years

the top two causes of mortality. And this year, COVID-19 because of Omicron being less virulent

and much more mild actually slid down to number four, the fourth leading cause of mortality,

So let's follow the science and see what the CDC just published today. May 5th in their morbidity,

provisional mortality data in the US during the year 2022. So what do we know about this topic? Well,

3.2 million people unfortunately died in the US during the year 2022. In fact, 30% of those deaths

were attributed to just two conditions as I've alluded to heart disease and cancer. Now it's

important to recognize all throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Heart disease and cancer comprised

the top two leading causes of mortality here in the US. COVID-19 was the third leading cause of death

during the year 2020 and 2022. It's now only the fourth leading cause of mortality. And if you

want to know the numbers, there was 690,000 people died from heart disease during the year 2022,

which has increased compared to 2021 and 2020. Also cancer comprised 607,000 deaths during the
