0:35.3	to go. Kirk, the stock market in 2022 thus far through March 2nd has been very,
0:45.0	very crazy, a lot of up and down, more down really than up. And people are getting a little
0:51.2	bit scared. And obviously, we don't want to leave the stock market
0:57.8	because as any smart investor knows, you could leave and then miss the biggest couple of days
1:04.8	on the upside. So what's an investor to do? What are options?
1:19.1	And I say that with a little chuckle, options strategies that we can use that might create a little ballast for our portfolio.

1:24.0	But before we get into options, tell us what is an option?
1:30.8	Options are securities. They're an interesting type of security. They were created many decades
1:37.0	ago. I think it was in the late 80s, early 90s that they were really widely used.
1:41.6	And really the purpose of options is to manage risk. And a lot of
1:45.0	people look at options and they don't understand them. So they say, oh, those things are really
1:49.4	risky. And they'll just dismiss them out of hand. A lot of accountants do this. A lot of advisors do
1:54.5	this. A lot of firms do this. And mainly because they don't understand them. And rightfully so,
