We're going to be going over some free agent rankings. It is that time. It is the offseason. But first, we're going to talk about the carousel of carousels of manager Palooza, I guess we're going to call it.

And I think we have to start, Drew, with probably one of the more shocking managerial things that I have seen.

Like, now, look, was I shocked when Tony LaRosa got hired by the White Sox?

Yeah, I was, even though there were some smoke to that fire.

There was no smoke to this one. Craig Counsel is now the manager of the Chicago Cubs, getting the largest

contract in managerial history. And when we're talking about managerial history, we're not talking

about him squeaking by it. We're talking about

close to double the largest contract that was out there right now. 4.5 was the previous high,

now 8 million. David Ross obviously let go in a decision that I wonder how surprised he was by

this. Drew, this is all just kind of shocking. Yeah, it was a wild Monday for managerial news and we can run through them all here,

all the news that broke on Monday.

And yeah, my counsel gets a five-year contract worth more than $40 million.

You just don't see money like that for managers very often.

Like you mentioned, I think we have four and a half million.

Terry Francona was up in that range toward the end of his tenure in Cleveland.

I think he left as the highest paid manager.

Joe Tori got a big contract from the Yankees like a few decades ago.

Sure.

But you've seen how like the manager role has kind of been devalued in baseball.

We're off in the front office is like really calling the shots and they don't want to pay managers big money.

But here come the Cubs with that kind of offer.

The Brewers reportedly offered them around five and a half million annually to stay.
