Summary

Do you have locks on your doors? What about a fence so your kids can play safely in the yard? The truth is, everyone believes in secure borders and as long as human nature is bent towards evil, borders will be necessary. This week, Frank picks up where he left off from the last episode as he explains what the Bible really says about immigration, borders, and deportations while answering questions like:* What are the important distinctions between legal and illegal immigration?* How does stopping illegal immigration protect innocent people from evil?* What happens when a country becomes too "soft" on enforcing its laws?* What’s the difference between imposing religion vs. imposing morality?* What is the #1 purpose of government?* Isn't it compassionate to have open borders?* How can America help the most people both inside and outside our borders? The best way to protect America and help people outside of our country is to control immigration at a sustainable level while exporting our ideas of economic and political liberty to other nations. We can’t bring everyone to America, but we should try to bring America to everyone. If you enjoyed this podcast episode PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE TRUTH OF CHRISTIANITY BY SUPPORTING OUR MINISTRY USING THE LINK BELOW. 100% of your donation goes to ministry, 0% to buildings!Resources mentioned during the episode:Donate to CrossExamined - https://donor.crossexamined.org/ (https://donor.crossexamined.org/)Top 10 Reasons Why Borders Are Biblical (Part 1) - https://bit.ly/4jf2esw (https://bit.ly/4jf2esw)Trump's Border Wall 'Morally Good' Because Bible Cities Had Walls by Wayne Grudem - https://bit.ly/44KdiYL (https://bit.ly/44KdiYL)Why Everyone Believes in Secure Borders and Why America Needs Them by Frank Turek - https://bit.ly/4jdvKPi (https://bit.ly/4jdvKPi)

And we're going to look at the Bible to see what the Bible says about these things.

Now, this is the second of two shows that we're doing on the Bible and immigration and borders and deportations. I covered five out of 10 points I wanted to make

0:41.8

in the previous podcast. So if you want the complete picture, go back and listen to that.

0:47.8

And I'll review briefly what we covered in the last show. And that is, first of all,

0:54.1

everyone believes in borders. I won't go into detail

0:56.8

here, but we covered it in the last program. That was the point one I needed to make. Even people who

1:02.2

say that we ought to have open borders have a lock on their door. Why is that? Because they love

1:06.6

people inside, not because they hate people outside. They realize this is a fallen world and

1:11.8

borders are necessary. Secondly, God established national borders. We covered that in detail last

1:17.9

time. He covers that in Deuteronomy 32 and also in Acts chapter 17. It essentially says that

1:25.7

God creates the nations and God creates the borders. At least he did

1:30.4

originally. Of course, borders have moved since then. But the essence here is that God is behind the

1:35.9

idea that we ought to have borders, that we ought to have nations. And so it's something that

1:42.3

is biblical to have borders and also to have walls and to have secure borders.

1:47.9

The third point we made is that God established government and assigned the punishment of wrongdoers, its primary responsibility.
