Welcome to a special episode of the Ascicycling Coach podcast presented by

0:03.6

Trana Road. I'm with Kate McLaughlin. Kate just finished 10th at Leadville, and

0:06.8

you may remember Kate's name because we've recorded a podcast previously with

0:10.3

Kate, the successful athletes podcast. That was when you had an injury, you

0:14.6

broke your, you messed up, you broke your thumb or tore ligaments in your thumb.

0:17.5

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then there we go. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so both. And then you

0:23.3

had to work your way back to getting fit, and you were like, I'm gonna try out

0:26.8

this Trana Road thing. And next thing you know, you won the Silver Rush 50, which

reaching out to you because you just finished 10th at Leadville. And I'm

saying 10th, like 10th out of all the women 10th, which is so impressive. An

0:46.2

0:50.4

had an awesome season. So I wanted to connect with you, see how you're training,

0:54.5

like what you've done to train for this event for Leadville in particular. And

0:58.4

then we'll talk about what you learned executing today at Leadville because

1:02.4

this isn't your first time doing it. So maybe some things like, here's what I

1:06.0

did better this time compared to last time. And then maybe that can help some

1:08.9

people. So yeah, quick mini episode. But I guess, how did you prepare for Leadville

1:14.0

to go 10th to finish so darn well? Yeah, so quick back story. I used Trana Road for the first

1:22.8

time. Like you said, preparing for Silver Rush. It was completely indoors. And it

1:28.2

went really well. And that was my first real training for race. And then I did
