| 0:52.0 | it immediately became clear to me that the issue of the summer, once there were going to be enough vaccines out there for people to choose to get vaccinated or not, |
| 1:02.0 | the issue of the summer was going to be vaccination passports or vaccination authentication. |
| 1:07.0 | In other words, will people need to show proof of vaccination in order to access something? |
| 1:13.0 | It is happening pretty fast in part because the vaccine rollout is moving along pretty swiftly. |

| 1:23.0 | And it is relevant to all sorts of public settings, whether it's travel or entering a restaurant or a hotel or a theater or a stadium. |
| 1:34.0 | And it's got, it's a multifaceted issue. It has elements that are related to an individual. |
| 1:41.0 | Like if it's me and I'm vaccinated and I'm going into a restaurant where everyone's going to have their masks off, |
| 1:47.0 | really would love to know that everybody in there is vaccinated that might make me more comfortable going. |
| 1:52.0 | So there are kind of individual issues, but then just as importantly, there are societal issues. |
| 1:57.0 | We all have an interest in reaching herd immunity in getting to a point where enough of the population is vaccinated that the virus cannot find a toehold where we are, |
| 2:08.0 | whether that's locally or in the United States or around the world, and slinks away into feet. |
| 2:14.0 | And it may very well be the only way that we reach that point of herd immunity is to provide some level of incentive for vaccination or disincentive for not being vaccinated. |
