Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik says he expects U.S. tariffs on Canada and Mexico to begin

tomorrow, but that the situation is still fluid.

Exactly what they are.

We're going to leave that for the President and his team to negotiate, and obviously I'm talking to him all the time

to discuss what that's going to be on Tuesday.

That was Lutnik speaking to Fox News yesterday.

President Donald Trump earlier proposed a 25% duty on all imports from Mexico and most

from Canada, except energy products, which were supposed to be at 10%.

In February, those were paused for a month.

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his country is preparing to fight the tariffs if they go ahead.

We will continue to work, to ensure, to do everything we can, to make sure that there are no tariffs on Tuesday. But if ever there were tariffs

on Tuesday, we will have a strong, unequivocal and proportional response. Mexico is also threatened

reciprocal tariffs. But on Sunday, Treasury Secretary Scott Besson told CBS News that Mexico

is offered to match the U.S.

10% tariff on China, and if Canada does the same, quote, that would be a very good start.

Tomorrow will also see President Trump make his first address to a joint session of Congress since being re-elected.
