Hey everybody welcome back to cold case murder mysteries. I'm your host Ryan Kraus

returning for another weird wacky and wildly introspective look into the true crime genre,

this time delving into the deepest recesses of the human mind to uncover the psychological truth

about a very fascinating subject.

But perhaps more important is that by learning what made this man tick, by coming to understand

what motivated him to indulge the abomination of preserving the dead, and never relent in his pursuit. We'll learn more about who we are as

well. Because while most of us will never sink to such depths of desperation, we've all been in a place where we simply couldn't let go of

love that was already gone. We couldn't stop believing because the pain never subsided.

And in doing so, we corrupted that love, causing it to morph into something more conducive

to obsession, which ultimately destroys us if we continue.

So the question I normally attack in search of answers is why, but in this case we already know why. It hurts to lose the people we love.

The better question is this.

What is the line between love and obsession? And where is it drawn in mortality?

In addition to that, I think it's necessary to indict the system within which this faulty

pattern of logic formed, as mortality is not limited to

flesh and blood considerations, rather it's a combination of physical and emotional elements.

Our physical construction suggests there is no life beyond the flesh.

Yet our emotional composition urges us to explore a very different reality indeed. For most of us, that renders

a life in which we know we will die, and the contradiction of our hopeful psychological

disposition causes a lifetime of coming to accept death.

It haunts us.
