Summary

On the morning of June 26, 1981, 22-year-old college student Kristin David disappeared during a solo bike ride from Moscow, ID to Lewiston, ID. Despite numerous searches over the course of the next week, no trace of Kristin was found.
But to the horror of the local community, her dismembered body was discovered in the Snake river on July 4, 1981, wrapped in newspapers that were stuffed inside trash bags.

Kristen David, who vanished during a bike ride from Moscow to Lewiston.

On June 25, 1981, around 11 p.m.

Kristen, an ambitious dual major in broadcast journalism and political science, called

her mother Sally to say she was going to bike from Moscow, Idaho to Lewiston the next morning, and planned to leave around 10 or 11 a.m.

Kristen just had her bike painted in Moscow and was going to ride it back to the Lewiston
