We open up this issue with Alongated Man, Gypsy, and Vixen, sitting around in the old

Justice League headquarters with a giant tentacled green creature that I will call the alien

cousin It.

I'm assuming it's an alien. Long-eating

man and Vixen a little freaked out, pissy. He tried to kill them a few moments earlier, but

Gypsy, it's got a feeling that's just like a lost baby, and they got to make sure it's okay.

You've got to protect babies, even alien babies. Alongated man wishes that John Jones was there. He's a natural detective,

which is odd because Alonged man's supposed to be a really good detective. So I wonder kind of why

he's pining so much for John to be there. He might just like John. Maybe he's upset because

since all the leaguers have to go get jobs and pay rent, they're not able to hang out anymore. You know, like back in the day it was like in college where no one had jobs and he just sat around all day doing nothing. Nah, everyone's got to get a job, they got to grow up a little bit. It's a little harder to keep the same type of friendships. Or maybe I'm just projecting my own problems onto a long-game

man in Martian Manhunter. So what is Martian Manhunter up to while Alongated Man Vixen

and Gypsy deal with the alien cousin-it? Well, he's involved in a rather noirish story. He's

taking the job as a private detective. He's searching for some run, runaway girl. He's hot on the tracks of what

he thinks is a clue when he sees someone getting attacked through a window. Now, the art in this

sequence, very noirish, shadowy crime sort of story. We see shadowy attack of one figure against

another. John Jones knows that someone's getting murdered, so he breaks into

the building, runs in time to see a woman shot. Not the girl he was looking for, a far older woman.
