We open up this issue with the League satellite

being torn apart by Martian invaders.

We see the bulkhead, which had been ripped open

League's living room. The wall-to-wall carpeting is being torn up. Pro tractors flying around. All

flying by Aquaman, creepy portrait. Why those four? Why no flash?

Is it just to remind us that the most powerful members aren't here and the rest have to scramble?

I think so.

We see Martian Manhunter flying away in his personal shuttle from the satellite,

worried about his friends,

realizing that if the automated systems don't kick in, they're going to die. Not worried enough,

though, to go back and help them. We see that the satellite is surrounded by Martian invaders' ships.
