Tom versus the JLA number 201 or Ultras just a tad bit high maintenance, me thinks.

Welcome back for Justice League of America number 201, the April 1982 issue entitled a hero for all seasons.

Written by Jerry Conway with art by Don Heck and Bob Smith, Ted Klein Letter, Carl Gafford,

colorist, Len Ween, editor, cover by Perez, and Giordano. Roll call, the Adam Black Canary, Flash,

Green Arrow, Hawkman, and Superman. We return to a normal-sized issue after the giant triple-sized

extravaganza that 200 was.

We also go back to a both less entertaining and more entertaining story.

Just straight-up story, not as entertaining, but I think there's some nice details that I'd like to point out.

We open up in Atlantic City, which Conway introduced as the

unofficial capital of America's Broken Dreamland. Take that Atlantic City, and we're introduced to

Joe Perry. And that's right, Joe Perry now, a more seasoned Justice League fan will remember this

name, but in case you don't, and they also explain in the comic, Joe Perry is a

foe of the Justice League from way back in issue number 31. He was a two-bit crook who found an alien

gizmo on the beach. It turned out to be a wishing machine. What did he wish? For gold? No, women,

no power? No. He ended up wishing for some sort of creature that

was an amalgamation of all the justice leaders that had Wonder Woman's head, Hawkman's wings,

even though Hawkman's wings aren't really part of Hawkman, I believe had the flesh's legs.

It was an interesting choice of wishes, not the top of my list, but he made it.

And his creature fought the Justice League and lost, and he got nabbed for federal bank robbery

charge. So things didn't work out well for him. So he's walking down the boardwalk of Atlantic

City where he runs into another old

friend of the Justice League's Ultra. If you're unfamiliar with Ultra, he is a Conway creation.
