Welcome back for the Flash number 308, the April 1982 issue feature cover pencil by Carmen

The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful, written by

Carrie Bates, art by Carmen Infantino, and Dennis Jensen, color by Gene D'Angelo,

letters by Todd Klein. We begin a scene, a little girl, age 6, 7, hanging from the rails in

front of a house, yelling that she can't hold on for much longer. Is she in trouble, a damsel

in distress? We see a pair of

legs with very floppy boots and pants on running torture. We pan back to see it is a little boy

dressed as the J. Garrick Flash running in to save this young girl at the last moment. Her name's

Daphne. Does this start to make sense? I think we know who this little boy is. He grabs Daphne as

she falls these six

inches from the railing in front of the house. She thanks the flash for being so brave, gives him a kiss

on the cheek, and the young boy yells to Daphne that she ruined it by getting all mushy,

to which Daphne says, Barry, that's what happens when a man's, when a superhero

saves the woman, she gives him a kiss. We see what's going on. It's Barry Allen and Daphne

Dean, childhood sweethearts playing back in Fallville, but why are we here? It's interrupted by a door

to a limousine opening, a mustache limousine driver who looks like Barry Allen's dad but with a mustache. Oh,

Carmine and Fantino. All your old dudes look kind of the same. Now, interrupting a young

lady's sleep at Stephanie Dean, the actress. She's come back a few times. Well, she's back this time.

She was sleeping in the back of the limo, having a dream about these adventures that her and Barry had back in Fallville, where Barry would swoop in and save her. It must be the jet lag from her trip from Paris. She's a jet-setting movie star, remember? She gets out the limo, walks into the Central City Police Station sees in Central City. She's here to see Barry, all the other police officers with rather hideous looking faces,

just big bulbousy faces. I don't know if I enjoy Dennis Johnson's inking on the faces.
