0:07.8

Welcome back for the Flash number 307, the March 1988 issue featuring cover pencils by Carmen

0:13.6

Am Fantino, Inc. by Dick Giordano with the issue being edited by Mike W. Barr. Our first story

0:18.7

in this issue is Pray for the Piper. Pray is a little trick little trick on words there. Pray, pray, pray, pray, pray. You know what I'm getting at? Written by Carrie Bates, pencil by Carmen Infantino, inked by Bob Smith, lettered by Todd Klein, colored by Gene DiAngelo. We start mourning over Central City, a helicopter on its way to the centrax museum bringing a very strange artifact a giant

0:39.3

golden gong you know you would hit it and make a gong noise yep like that well they're taking one

0:46.3

to the centrix museum a couple of employees of a helicopter company or perhaps they work for the museum

0:51.8

their exact employment status and who they get paid by is not clear in the story.

0:57.3

But unimportant. In fact, they're talking about that this gong comes from an island where all the inhabitants went deaf because it was so loud, which seems like a tremendously interesting story that I would like to see a comic about.

1:09.9

This island of people who built a gong

1:11.8

so big and powerful that it deafened them, which seems like maybe they were massacists,

1:18.4

maybe they just got out of hand making a giant gong, it just got too big.

1:22.4

You know, once you start making one, and no one wants to be the one to say, stop, we got a big

1:27.1

enough gong, everyone wants to keep adding and adding to it. So as these helicopter pilots have a nice conversation between the two of them flying over the city we see in a nearby building, a strange metallic object pop out of a window. We follow the metallic object inside where we see a familiar flash rogue, the Pied Piper, playing one of his pipes,

1:45.4

which is the object coming out of the window. He's thinking to himself that's a telescopic

1:48.9

and trancer. It's going to get the job done perfectly with the helicopter pilots. As you see,

1:52.7

the sound beams, go from the pipe, hit the helicopter. Both helicopter pilots start complaining

1:58.0

of headaches and that they're getting very tired and then suddenly they

2:01.4

start speaking in trance speak like for instance i would normally say we understand and obey trance speak

2:07.9

would be we understand and obey we are changing course according to your telepathic instructions

2:16.6

so all of a sudden the helicopter starts changing course, not going to the Centrox Museum,

2:20.3

but heading towards a half-completed building in downtown central city, a bunch of the workers

2:25.5

working on the girders and the skeletons of this building start freaking out.
