Looks like Barry could use some new long boxes. Welcome back for the Flash number 267 the November 1978 issue feature cover. Penciled by Rich Buckler, inked by Dick Geradano, with the issue being edited by Julie Schwartz. Her first story in this issue is Heatwaves, plays of glory written by Carrie Bates, penciled by Irvinovvick, inked by Frank McLaughlin, lettered by Todd Klein, colored by Gene D'Angelo. We begin with Mick Rory, Heatwave, gloating, talking about how he's finally, he's beaten the flash, he's beaten him, and how did this all start? Sir with him, confronting his fear of ice. Well, it started with his therapist throwing a bucket of ice at him.

Of course, he waved freaked out.

He waved deciding to grab life by the horns and really embrace his fear and confront it.

So he went to the eccentric millionaire Alden Norton's place, which is a giant igloo.

I'm surprised we have not seen this earlier in Central City that there's an insane rich man

who's got a mansion that looks like an iglee. Hewai laid a trap for the flash captured. He even unmasked him, of course, didn't know who it was, so it didn't really help him. But he did take Elton out of his cryogenic chamber, just through the body somewhere, threw the flash in there. Now he's going to lock him up, freeze him up for 100 years, so that nobody knows what happened to the flash, and Heat Wave can run around doing whatever he wants. Not only has Heat Wave done this, but he has set up a nice little AV set up there with a video camera. He's recording himself talking into the camera, pointing out the flash is frozen. He takes the tape, hides it behind the cryogenic chamber, so everyone will know why the flash disappeared for a couple hundred years.

1:32.9

He's all smiles, as you would be.

1:35.2

The heat wave, when you're afraid of ice, to really confront that and take control of it, I'm

1:40.7

proud of him.

1:41.3

He tapes it right to the side of it, grabs his camera. He probably rented the camera,

1:45.3

gets all his audio-visual equipment, and is headed out to just wreck havoc on Central City.

1:51.3

Chuckling villain leaves the room. We turn back to the crowd-genic chamber, filling with gas,

1:55.8

slowly freezing the flash. But the flash, it's not completely frozen yet. No, he's inside.

2:00.4

His body, too stiff to move, but his body is not completely frozen yet. No, he's inside. His body, too stiff to move,

2:02.2

but his body temperature not low enough for him to be unconscious. So he's heard heat wave gloating

2:07.8

into his camera. He realizes in a few moments, it's going to be too late. He's going to be

2:13.5

frozen, and there's nothing you can do about it. He can't really move his body, but he can

2:17.4

sort of vibrate enough to throw off some spare molecules. We all have spare molecules. The Flash can throw off some stray ones here and there. But as he's trying to vibrate, it just isn't working. It's just shooting off stray molecules and looks like the situation is going to be helpful. So just as the Flash is about to give up, he thinks of something, shooting molecules.

2:36.4

That's the key.

2:37.4

I mean, it's going to be a long shot, but if he just keeps forcing his body to discharge

2:42.4

molecules, maybe one of them will collide with one of the molecules and the cryogenic gas
