Welcome back to the Flash number 254, the October 1977 issue featuring a cover penciled by Dick Dylan, inked by Joe Rubinstein.

To Believe or Not To Believe, written by Carrie Bates, pencil by Irvnovick, inked by Frank McLaughlin, color by Jerry Serp, lettered by Ben Oda. We begin, something that commonly

happens in Central City. Little girl on the ledge of a tall building holding her cat.

Seems the cat went out on the ledge and the little girl went out there to grab the cat.

I'm not a cat person. I'll admit that. I would not go out on this tiny ledge to grab the cat.

Well, don't worry. The girl's not going to get hurt because guess who comes running out of a window?

It's the flash. She was down on the street. Everyone was looking up, and he knows when everyone's looking up. That means there's trouble up above just as he gets out on the ledge. The cat either jumped out of Tabitha's hands. Wait, what Tabitha's the cat? The girl, what's the girl's name? We don't know what the girl's name is. We'll refer to her as the girl. It looks like the cat either A jumped out of the girl's hands. Like Tabitha has a death wish. Tabby, the cat wants to die. Or the girl threw the cat in some sort of weird role-playing situation. Either way, the cat's gone over the edge. The little girl

jumps to grab the cat. This girl's not smart. She's a smash. Get smashed all over the place

with the flash is on the ledge. He's got a plan. He runs down the side of the building at super

speed, gets down the ground, runs so fast as it kicks up a burst of air, cushioning both the cat

and the girl. He pushes them back up to the ledge, grabbing them as he's on his way back up the side of the building.

He sees mirror master in one of the windows, just hanging out, windows open.

He looks at the cool refreshing breeze.

Flash gets up top, gives the little girl back to his mom.

As the mom Stegium, Flash does not have time to accept the

things, perhaps some fresh-baked cookies, a hug, a card, who knows, maybe a lasting friendship. Flash doesn't have time for that. He's got to take on Miramaster. Runs back down the side of the building. Starts running around the open window, creating a vortex area, hoping to suck Miramaster out of the window. Well, he does create a vortex, and he does pull a bunch of stuff out of that window.

None of it's the mirror master, though. A lamp a picture. A old man in his bed who is flipping out because now he's outside of his window. Flesh realizes what's going on, reverses the vortex, so the guy goes flying back in on his bed, which is nice. He's going to complain to his super. Flash runs on the side of the building. He sees Miramaster leaning up against a light pole. He runs up to him. Mirrormaster just starts floating away, and it's starting to make sense. The Flash is chasing this image. Mirrormaster stays just ahead. It's obviously a trap. It's bait to get the flash to go somewhere. So he follows

it. He follows this image of Miramaster all through the countryside till it gets to a windmill on the

outskirts of town, one of those old-fashioned central city windmill. So we've heard, oh, so much about

Flash knows this has got to be some type of trap but hey it's all part of the job he's
