Tom versus Flash number 238 or I'm just a Class B dude.

Welcome back for the Flash number 238, the December 1975 issue feature cover pencil by

The first story in this issue is A Switch in Crime, written by Curry Bates and Bob Rosakis, with art by Irv Novick and Frank McLaughlin. We begin Central City, beautiful day out, lovely day. The kind of day that you'd hate to be stuck inside your office. People are in the park eating lunch, including Barry Allen, who's eating his favorite sandwich, a tuna on rye.

Well, he doesn't say it's his favorite, but I'm going to guess he looks like a tuna on rye guy.

So he's sitting in the park bench, not sharing his feelings, but eating a sandwich, watching the tableau in front of him of the lifestyle, all the various lifestyles of Central City passing in front of him.

The mustache-hatted people, very content with their lives,

probably some sort of investment banker.

When a fog, some sort of strange smog comes rolling over the cars on the street,

it's a gang of motorcycles being driven by, of course, a gang of motorcyclists.

Just street tops. I think this might be the first appearance of motorcyclists, just streettops.

I think this might be the first appearance of the standard DC mid-70 street-tuff situation

where there's just packs of people roaming around the city streets, mugging people, robbing them.

And these guys, you know, they got their shirts untucked, unbuttoned, you know,

loot t-shirts, necklaces, beards, right around on a motorcycle.

They see our mustache-hatted man.

Call out the fact that he's a class A dude, and they're going to take him out.

Just, you're calling attention to yourself with that mustache and that hat.

Unless you're some type of hipster in the hip part of Central City apart, you know calling attention to yourself with that mustache and that hat.

Unless you're some type of hipster in the hip part of Central City,

the part, you know, with all the used record stores,

someone's going to pick you out in a second, including a motorcycle gang.
