Welcome back to the Flash number 235, the August 1975 issue, featuring a cover by Dick Gerardown with the entire issue being edited by Julie Schwartz.

Our story in this issue is Vandal Savage, wanted dead and alive.

We begin with the Flash running home at a furious pace.

Iris is playing a beautiful dinner for them.

He's running late because he ran across a bank robbery.

He's running so late that he has to change while he's running into his

dinner outfit. His sensible slacks, nice blazer, turtle neck sweater. He knows he's going to be

getting some later night, and he's wearing his smoothest outfit. So we see him changing into his

civilian clothes on the run home. We see him running up to the house, vibrating through the wall,

getting into the dining room, excited, but it's his favorite meal, Veal Scalapine. You know, it's Veal with mushrooms and wine sauce. I'm sure I've got the name all wrong, but if you're curious, corny caribates, that's Barry Allen's favorite meal. Ron sits down at the table. He's yelling to Iris that everything smells great.

She's a wonderful cook. He's so excited. He's sorry. He's late. When all of a sudden, he gets a sense

that something has gone wrong. And with a mighty baroom, the kitchen door goes flying off its hinges.

It's an explosion. I know what you're thinking, veal explosion. And it happens a lot in DC comics, cooking veal, an explosion. Alfred know what you're thinking, Veal Explosion. And it happens a lot in DC Comics,

cooking veal, an explosion. Alfred, I believe, was killed once in a Batman comic by a horrible

veal explosion. But no, it's not that. It's something a little bit more unexpected. It, well,

unexpected unless you saw the title, because Vandal Savage comes walking under the kitchen,

very dramatic. Barry Annan's surprised to see him. But it's the last time he fought Vandal Savage. It was with Jay Garrick. And they were trying to stop him from regaining his immortality from the same meteor that originally gave it to him. They thought he was disintegrated by the meteor hitting them. I guess not, but he's back. He's got that silver streak in his hair. If you're unfamiliar with

Vandal Savage, he's an Earth 2 villain, a caveman who gained immortality, he's manipulated history,

now he's here to fuck with the Flash. So, very surprised. Vandal says I'd rather see you in
